How can ya keep yer BIRTHPLACE accent when everyone else in yer NEW area talks TOTALLY different to you?
I looked it up, and this site I went on advised me that, in order to keep YER OWN accent, you’ve gotta “tune out” everyone else- what does that mean when it’s at home? I THINK I get what that means, but could someone please clarify it for me, just to be on the safe side? And secondly, if it DOES mean what I THINK it means, then that’s easier said than done, so how the bloody hell are ya s’pposed to do that?! This is the most important part of me question, and the part I’d MOST like answers to. Is there a self-hypnosis technique I can use or summin’ or other? And if so, what? I’d REALLY appreciate YOUR angles on this one, please, guys. Much obliged! Peace and love! Be lucky! ![]()
Are there any special techniques which’d help me “tune everyone else out” or what? :/
If your accent is that strong, I doubt you’ll lose it.
